This is a Hasegawa 1/72 scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Avro Lancaster, a British Royal Air Force four-engine heavy bomber in World War II. Model kit features: Fully detailed exterior w/ engraved panel lines. Detailed cockpit and landing gear w/ boxed in wheel wells. RAF markings. *ABOUT THE AVRO LANCASTER: The Lancaster heavy bomber first took flight in January 1941, and it soon became one of the main heavy bombers of the RAF Bomber Command. The Lancaster was a large bomber with an extensive bomb bay capable of carrying heavy loads, and the Lancaster carried some of the heaviest munitions of the Second World War. The RAF loaded the Lancaster with 4,000 lb, 8,000 lb, 12,000 lb, and later the massive 22,000 lb "Grand Slam" earthquake "Cookies" (or "Blockbuster" bombs); earning the type the nickname "Grand Slam Bomber".
